Isaiah 6:1–3
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
God is one, but his oneness makes us want to say things in three’s.
We see a trace of the Trinity in the shape of time.
Revelation 4:8
And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
Revelation 1:17–18
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
God walks through our past, our present, and our future.
We see a trace of the Trinity in the human virtues.
1 Corinthians 13:13
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Thessalonians 1:3
Remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is source of our faith from the past, love in the present, and hope for the future.
We see a trace of the Trinity in God’s relationship to us.
Romans 8:14–17
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
God is Father above us, Son beside us, and Spirit within us.
Don’t try to understand. Notice the Trinity, and be in awe.
